Allocation of Championship Status 2010

Letter from the Kennel Club dated 28th August 2007.

At its last meeting the General Committee agreed the allocation of Championship Status 2010 and the allocation will be published in the September issue of the Kennel Gazette.

In calculating the number of CCs for each breed the figures indicated that there should be an additional set of CCs for Papillons. In noting that all breed clubs enjoy championship status, the Committee has requested I write to offer this additional set of Challenge Certificates as a joint breed clubs' championship show. This is not a new concept, joint breed clubs' championship shows were held for a number of breeds, a number of years ago and were organised in one of two ways:

a) The CCs were rotated  between each breed club, with a club scheduling two championship shows in a given year, or

b) A separate organising committee was established to run the championship show on behalf of the registered clubs. The show licence was issued in the name of one of the registered clubs. Care was taken to ensure that proper financial arrangements were in place and that the selection of the judge(s) and the show venue were made in a fair manner.
