I consider it an honour to be invited to judge such a prestigious breed club show and I thank all the exhibitors for a fabulous entry of 196 dogs. I thoroughly enjoyed my day.

PUPPY DOG 6 (2 abs)

  1. Cook’s Bedellus Rave on to Julandia 10 months. Very eye catching red sable, fine and dainty and well balanced. Nice lay of shoulder and lovely rear construction and good. In excellent coat. Moved very accurately and confidently. BPD & Reserve BPIS.
  2. Mann’s Melangel Kristmas Klassic 11 months. Slightly larger than 1. Nice head and eye, lovely shaped ears and feathering coming through. Good neck and level top line. Just a little uncertain with his tail at times. Looked a picture in profile and moved superbly.
  3. Wilson’s Invergarick Casino Royale

JUNIOR DOG 5

  1. Borg’s Elendil Berengar 15 months. A lot to like. Lovely size and shape. Correct silky long coat and well presented. Dark eyes and good fine muzzle. Well feathered ears of good shape and used effectively. Moved positively which just determined heading the class.
  2. No name given. Another well balanced young man and looked eye catching in profile. Dainty movement. In good coat and was presented in excellent order.
  3. Cullen’s Paupad Ring of Fire

MAIDEN DOG 5 (2 abs)

  1. Stanbury and Unwin’s Inixia Touched by Magic B/W 14 months and still very much a junior. Portrayed an appealing profile.  Dark expressive eye, good muzzle and stop. Nice lay of shoulder and straight front. Dainty and well balanced throughout and in excellent textured coat abundant for age. Fine boned and good hare feet. Great use of well featured ears especially on the move.  Was a little unsure of himself at times but gained in confidence and was particularly impressive in the challenge. RBD. A bright future ahead.
  2. Stangie’s Alwenil Skips Jet. Larger than 1. In glorious coat and well present. Appealing head. Moved a little too slow and therefore movement appeared restricted.
  3. Greenslade’s Serenglade Mask of Zorro

NOVICE DOG 5 (3 abs)

  1. Geary’s Taliesyn Ash Larger proportioned dog but well balanced. Lovely expression and at one with handler. In excellent coat and moved beautifully with full use of great shaped ears.
  2. Borg’s Elendil Eirion Preferred size but did appeared a little nervous today. Movement was accurate but without purpose.

GRADUATE DOG 12 (2 abs)

  1. Brooks Brontigear Orlando Tri of excellent proportions. Head void of narrow blaze but absolute quality could not be denied. Gorgeous melting dark eyes, nice rounded skull between the ears, fine muzzle of correct length and excellent dentition. Well laid shoulder placement and straight front. Level top line, great tail setting. Abundant spun silk coat which gleamed. Fabulous obliquely carried ears and furnishings to match. Moved swiftly with accurately. Seriously considered in the challenge.
  2. Chandler’s Button ‘n’ Bows Barleybright. Another lovely dog and similar comments apply. In super condition and lovely ears with profuse feathering. A very close decision but the light swift movement of 1 just tipped the scales today.
  3. Prince’s Temelora Soul Mate

POST GRADUATE DOG 16 (2 abs)

The largest class of the day

  1. Stanbury’s Panspayon Stepin out with Inixia B/W 20 months. Another exciting dog from this kennel. Lovely temperament and was certainly determined to catch the judges eye! Well balanced of lovely size. Fine boned. Particularly liked the head qualities and mischievous eye. Super neck. Had lovely ear leathers and rounded tips profusely feathered and utilized at all times, particularly when moving. Covered the ground with positive accurate movement.
  2. Morrell & Teague’s Temelora Sun Shadow B/W a little more mature and in abundant coat and furnishings. Lovely in profile and ran 1 very close. Alert expression – dark expressive eyes, finely pointed muzzle with excellent dentition. Straight front and good deep chest and perhaps would have preferred a little more weight. A lovely dog.
  3. Manns Melangel Jaunty Justin

LIMIT DOG 10 (1 abs)

  1. Dembiniok’s Temelora Sun Dancer at Hollrexia JW ShCM. Red sable 19 months Exquisite! A fine and dainty young dog with the most gorgeous large mobile ears, rounded tips abundantly fringed. They illustrate the finer points of the name Papillon which is derived from ear setting. Ears were used to full advantage both in profile and on the move. Fabulous coat quality of the finest silk. Super straight front, hare feet with furnishings, good length of body, strong loin and deep chest. Floated around the ring with undeniable presence. In the challenged just demanded the nod and delighted to award him BD and BIS. His second such award back to back at breed club shows I was informed.
  2. Morrell & Teague’s Temelora Storm Petrel JW. B/W Another quality exhibit. Super profile when standing. Attractive head with large fringed ears, dark eye and pigmentation. Adequate neck, level top line and excellent rear assembly. Impressive rib cage and loin. In beautiful coat and condition. Moved very well.
  3. Langdon’s Skyvana Apparition of Shadowknight

OPEN DOG 10 (2 abs)

  1. Munn’s Ch Ringlands Treasures Story, Red sable Dog. Most eye catching, and a lovely size. Super head qualities and ear carriage; fringes exemplary. Beautiful straight front, fine hare-like feet well feathered. Long profuse coat beautifully presented. When moving, glided around the ring with an air of arrogance. Extremely accurate in all directions. In the challenge relaxed a little and was not quite on his toes which spoilt the overall balance of appearance.
  2. Morrell & Teague’s Temelora Just Magic. I particularly liked the overall size and shape. Impressive exhibit upon examination. Attractive head with fine muzzle and correct stop. Dentition excellent. Good length of body and deep chest. Sloping shoulders. Well placed tail which was well plumed. Just lost out on exemplary movement of 1.
  3. Stanbury’s Inixia Crown Jewel

BEGINNERS DOG 2 (1 abs)

  1. Hobson & Howarth’s Rosenjon Bobby Dazzler. Both the dog and young handler were at one. Nice size and shape. Very well presented and moved extremely well in all directions.

VETERAN DOG 6
An excellent class headed by two very worthy Champions.

  1. Stanbury & Borg’s Ch Inixia So Let It Be for Elendil. At 8 years has lost none of the showmanship which made him a very worthy champion. I have long admired him. He is well within the standard for size. Large rounded ears heavily fringed, ebony eyes placed low in the skull. In profuse coat and simply flew around the ring, so elegantly and light on his feet using his ears at all times and never stopped showing. Demanded the class and BEST VETERAN IN SHOW.
  2. Davidson-Poston’s Ch/Ir Ch Ibstock Bright Spark for Spinillons Sh Ch M. A superb dog in a larger frame. Presentation absolutely flawless. Movement spot on and has lost none of the virtues which has made him the successful dog he is. A close decision between two very different dogs.
  3. Scovell’s Caswell Copper Charmer.

SPECIAL OPEN PHALEN DOG 5

  1. Prince’s Temelora Soul Mate. Beautiful expression but would have preferred slightly finer muzzle. Lovely placed ears and nice fringes. Well presented coat. His movement was a joy to watch, accurate and light on his feet. Really showed well.
  2. Morrell & Teague’s D’Alies Dog Igor for Temelora (Imp) sweet expression with well placed ears.  A nice size and shape and well put together but could not match the confidence and accuracy in movement of 1.
  3. Roberts & Smith Serenglade Flag Ship

MINOR PUPPY BITCH 9 (1 abs)

  1. Davidson-Poston’s Spinillons Saffire. 7 ½ months tri. She stole my heart. A dainty precocious baby and the most appealing expression. Correctly placed ears, well feathered for age. Superbly constructed – excellent straight front, adequate upper arm and good rear assembly. Fine boned throughout but with deep chest and good spring of rib. Presented in A1 order. Looked super in profile when standing but it was her movement which was so eye catching. She has a great forehand and covers the ground with ease and takes everything in her stride. A very bright future assured. BPB & BPIS. Well deserved.
  2. Wilson & Boal’s Erinsjoy Sakimes Legacy. Another very promising puppy, almost 8 months. Lovely size, pretty head and super ear carriage. Bright expressive eyes and good dentition. Nice front assembly and rear angulation produced accurate movement. Showed well.
  3. Morrell & Teague’s Temelora Lucky Lady

PUPPY BITCH 10 (5 abs)

  1. Langdon’s Skyvanna Bette Late Than Neva 10 months. Lovely shade of red sable. Another super puppy, fine boned of lovely size for age. Pretty head, good neck level top line and tail setting. Straight front and great rear angulation. Moved really daintily and this presented a lovely picture. Super eyes used to advantage. Good coat for age. A bright future predicted.
  2. Bruce & Bruce-Jackson’s Tijuana Lady Charlotte 10 months B/W Attractive expression, nicely rounded head between well set large feathered ears, fine muzzle and good stop. Level top line profuse tail and ruff. Moved soundly and showed well at all times. Another quality puppy and close up on 1.
  3. Whipps Mazameil Heidi Hi

JUNIOR BITCH 6

  1. Stanbury’s Inixia Pure Fantasy B/W 13 months. Clever line breeding from this kennel as this young lady is similar to most bearing this affix. Lovely size and correct shape. Fine muzzle, sweet expression, ears set slightly to the back of skull at the correct angle and profusely feathered. On the move used these to maximum effect. Sound in all directions and showed superbly. Headed a class of quality youngsters.
  2. No name given. Very similar comments apply to first and a close decision.
  3. Miller’s Feorlig Unforgetable Ella

MAIDEN BITCH 9 (3 abs)

  1. Stanbury & Unwin’s Inixia Magic Moment Litter sister to 1st in Maiden Dog. 14 months B/W. Well balanced throughout, fine boned but good body. In excellent coat with featherings coming through in all the right places. Moved well particularly on the forehand where she excelled. Really eye catching in profile.
  2. Whipps Mazameil Heidi Hi Red Sable 3rd in an extremely strong Puppy Class. A lot to like. Lovely size and very pretty. She moved extremely accurately and with maturity is a good prospect.
  3. Chandlers Barleybright Peebles

NOVICE BITCH 13 (4 abs)

  1. Langdon’s Skyanna Banshee with Shadowknight A promising puppy of 8 months. Extremely attractive, very pretty head, good neck and shoulders and level top line. In good body condition. Excellent ear fringes and feathering. Moved steadily in every direction and showed very well.
  2. Millers Unforgetable Ella. Extremely attractive red sable of balanced profile. In excellent coat and condition and shown to perfection. Just lost out on rear movement but a close call.
  3. Diprose’s Shamal Smantha Amber

GRADUATE BITCH 14 (4 abs)

  1. Morrell & Teague’s Temelora Nicholas’s Gift Red sable 17 months. Particularly admired the expression and perfect ear setting for a Phalene. Symmetrical head marking, lovely dark round eye set low, narrow muzzle. Great dentition and thin lips. Adequate neck and good lay of shoulders. Tail setting correct. Could be a touch finer in bone but well constructed throughout and moved soundly.
  2. Bruce & Bruce-Jackson’s Tijuana Princess just out of junior and may be at a difficult stage. A lot to like. Nicely constructed and fine boned. Beautiful head and lovely ears. Was slightly out of coat and lost concentration in the class which sadly cost.
  3. Coughlan’s Paupadfloral Floral Dynasty

POST GRADUATE BITCH 13 (6 abs)

  1. Maskell’s Kaskell Starlight Dream 2 yrs red sable. Her movement was exemplary. Well balanced throughout with excellent rib and deep chest. Straight front and sound rear construction.  Fine boned and perfect tail setting. A really super bitch to examine on the table and beautifully presented. Sadly, coat not yet fully through so this had to be considered in the challenge.
  2. Bruce & Bruce-Jackson’s Tijuana Amelia Jane sister to 2nd in Graduate. Similar comments apply but moved far more confidently than her sister. In lovely coat and condition.
  3. Lee’s Matura Darling Daisy

LIMIT BITCH 9 (4 abs)

  1. Morrell & Teague’s Temelora Nichole. Phalene. Another quality exhibit from this kennel. Very glamorous in profile and in excellent coat and condition. Loved the head qualities and overall size. Could have a tad finer bone. Moved very accurately and never put a foot wrong.
  2. Hobson’s Rosenjohn Coco Chanel JW 2 yrs. Beautiful constructed and very glamorous. Ear shape size and fringes very impressive. Was lovely to examine on the table and clearly I thought she would be the winner. Unfortunately, demonstrated to us all that it was a long day and decided to play up. My notes say ‘bad girl’!
  3. Lee’s Matura My Precious

OPEN BITCH 8 (1 abs)

  1. Munn’s Kemill to Poppytime Red sable of the highest quality. Fine boned, dainty and beautifully balanced. In super coat and condition. Ear shape and fringes consummate. She simply flew around the ring with her fine silky coat following. Whilst the movement was extremely flashy it was truly accurate. Stood like a statue in profile and never put a foot wrong. Was seriously challenged by 2 but on the day she could not be denied her place. BB & RBIS. I was told that she had recently achieved her Championship status. Well deserved.
  2. Miller’s Feorlig Midnight in Georgia JW. Another classic bitch. Slightly more of her but no way unrefined. In fabulous coat and furnishings. Her head qualities are so appealing. Lovely reach of neck and front construction. Deep chest, elbows close in and well sprung ribs. High set tail, well furnished which added to the picture. Unlucky to meet 1 in such good form today.
  3. Cox’s Tricianbriani Ani Sette

BEGINNER’S BITCH 2

  1. Diprose’s Shamal Samantha Amber 3rd in Novice bitch. Nice shape in profile, moved really well. In excellent coat and well presented.
