Philip Shirley has sent the following report of the day:

"Sadly the weather let us down so the show had to take place indoors, with the main hall set a side for the ring using the club room for all the cages and boxes etc.

From the start the catering sub committee worked jolly hard and many exhibitors found the bacon butties on arrival just the thing to recover form their journeys, all day tea and coffee were supplied free of charge and along with the £5 lunch ticket, there have been many favourable comments from exhibitors saying what a good Idea it is and saving them the bother of making sandwiches and flasks themselves.

The breed classes were well filled with few absentees for the Judge Jo Davidson-Poston, various cash and other prizes (all generously donated by members) went to 1st - 3rd place winners in all the breed classes. The Juniors gave a super display with Sophie Langdon putting them through their paces, again there were prizes for all Juniors.

During the lunch break a lady from the British Heart Foundation was invited into the ring to accept the cheque totalling £926. 25 which was the amount raised at the South of England Papillon Club sponsored dog walk in April for this charity.

The day finished with the various special welfare classes judged by Sophie.

The Club stall and others did brisk business and along with a huge amount generated from the sale of raffle tickets: (its no use hiding Rodney will find you!) it proved to be a most friendly and successful day.

Next year the show will be held on 20th May 2006 with the breed judge: Mrs J Savage (Abbeyton) and the welfare classes: Mr I Chandler. (Barleybright)"

Thesbina Teague had to return to the Devon County Show where their other puppy Had won the Puppy Group on the first day and their Temelora Storm Petrel then went RBPIS A really winning weekend for them!!

Denise Welsh has reported on another dual purpose Papillion in Angie Tydman's Kazim Ice Is Nice who, having won BOB at Ardingley had come second in an Open Agility Show the previous weekend.

It has just been announced that Boston & DCS are to hold a new Ch Show on 5th & 6th January 2007 and there will be Papillon CCs on offer.  There will be Stakes classes etc but no Non CC classes at this stage although these are promised for future years.  This fills a gap in the Calendar as it is a long way from Doncaster to Peterborough and a new Ch show is welcome in that part of the Country and the Venue is used by many local Societies.

Mrs Debbie Gornall has taken on the role of Welfare/Rescue co-ordinator. The committee has one vacancy for the Stall Holder as Mrs Lyn Richards has resigned due to her health.
