Guidelines for Rescue Co-ordinators

(as approved at the 2007 AGM)

  1. At the initial contact with the Owner/family/carer, the Rescue Co-ordinator will establish if the Breeder of the dog is known. If the Breeder is known, the current Owner/family/carer will be asked to contact the Breeder to establish whether the Breeder is willing to  re-home or take responsibility of the dog themselves.

(1a) If the Owner/family/carer is in a distressed state and the Breeder is known, Rescue will immediately offer to undertake this function on behalf of the owner and establish the Breeders’ wishes as to the future placement of the dog.

  2. All dogs will be treated as an individual and in line with the Kennel Club Rescue Directory criteria and comply with the Association of Cats and Dogs Home Guidelines.
